In The Beginning
The Great Falls Dog Training Club was formed in 1972. By January of 1973 there were 33 members in and around the Great Falls area promoting the training of American Kennel Club registered dogs in obedience. The first all-breed sanctioned obedience match promoted by the club was held on April 15, 1973 at the Trades and Industries Building at the Fairgrounds in Great Falls. Cost for entering your dog was $3.00 for the first class and $1.00 for each additional class with the same dog. Scores at this match did not count as a win toward any Obedience degree.
